The other day, I was out for a walk with my brother Fynnegan and our mom.  We were having fun.  This time of year is nice -- not too hot, not too cold and there was no rain.  With the leaves everywhere, there are lots of new things to sniff and we try to catch them all!

We were all doing our thing, when this little stray excited dog came running and startled us.   Me and Fynn had never seen her before and she didn't have any people with her.  Something about her was a little bit off and I did not have a good feeling.  I told her to go away but she didn't listen at first -- I had to bark at her a bit and so did Fynn and Mom told her to shoo.

In the middle of it all, I felt a 'ping'.  It wasn't until the kerfuffle had ended that we realized I was tangled in the leashes.  I couldn't step on my leg.  Mom unwound the leash from where it was wrapped but still my leg hurt and I couldn't stand on it. We headed straight home and mom said I had to rest.  She was very gentle and Fynn was nice to me, too. I know she was trying to be nice, but my leg hurt so much that I couldn't let my mom touch my leg.  I snapped at her a bit.  I know she still loves me, though because she said so.

Mom took me to the vet but they couldn't tell what was wrong.  I had to stay there overnight.  It was a bit scary, but everyone was nice to me and I am a big girl now, so I toughed it out.  I didn't cry.  The next day I had to have x-rays.  That's where they take pictures of your insides.  They showed that I had a torn my ligament and that is pretty bad.  I have to have surgery and it's gonna take 4 to 6 weeks until I can play chase with Fynn and Baylee or have a good game of fetch.

We have to wait and see about scheduling my surgery, now.  I hope it's soon.  My mom got insurance when she first brought me home.  She said she loves me and wanted to always be able to care for me - that was 10 years ago.  Now though, the insurance company says they won't cover my accident -- they would if I were hit by a car, or swallowed poison but they won't cover it because I hurt my ligament.

Please say a prayer for me and keep your paws crossed.

I'll keep you updated,

Woof,

'pulser
