When it came to introducing the cat and dog, we were totally clueless!
Seriously!
The research I did on the internet seemed kinda lame, so we just decided to play it extremely safe and hope for the best! Woody’s personality is playful, but very in-your-face. We were pretty careful about introducing them, as we didn’t want Karen to have to adjust to a new home and live in fear of the “big dog”. So the day we brought Karen home, we left Woody in his kennel in the living room and let the cat roam around on his own. To put it mildly, Woody did not like this arrangement at all – he has always watched cats roam around outside, but now that there was one in his house. He wanted to get out of his kennel, get closer and stick his nose up the kitty’s little butt! Karen seemed quite comfortable right away and explored every little thing in his new home – he’s not shy or timid at all, but very curious!
Then Karen got too close to the dog kennel, and Woody started to whine and cry, which scared Karen at first, but once Karen realized the dog was stuck and didn’t pose a threat, I swear Karen flaunted his freedom - walking very slowly in front of the dog and watching out of the corner of his eye…oh the nerve!
