I am so happy.  Fetch and Pounce is moving along nicely.

I took a look at the Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue site and they have posted a link to Fetch and Pounce.  It feels great to see it there...a proud little moment.

Fetch and Pounce has committed to donate a percentage of all of our sales until the end of the year to this organization.  We know first hand that they do great work.

Boss' mothers name is Destiny.  A couple of years ago, when her humans could no longer keep her as their daughter was developing asthma, they looked for another home for her.  When a good match could not be found, they turned to the Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue and surrendered her.  She went to stay in a foster home until they could find a good match.  She now lives in a home with two other Boston Terriers and is very happy.  She has settled in and is loved and has a new family.  Boss sees Destiny's human often and regularly gets updates.

When they get new animals, as with most rescue groups, they foster the animals to get a good understanding of temperament and any health issues.  They address the health issues.  Animals are assessed by a veterinarian and are sent for appropriate treatment.  Where possible, they try to negotiate prices with the veterinarian but are still reliant on donations to pay for the treatments.

I have seen first hand the work they do and met some delightful animals who have been helped by them.  Not all of the stories are as gentle and pleasant as Destiny's story.  Some of the dogs they rescue come from horrendous situations.  All are welcomed and helped -- whether be by a foster parent, a veterinarian or a volunteer working diligently on fundraising or on placement.

We all have an obligation to help those less fortunate.  At Fetch and Pounce, this is a standard we wanted to start from the beginning.  We decided to start with the Boston Terrier Club of Canada Rescue to honour Boss and his peeps!

We are looking to also support a charity helping cats.  If you are aware of one needing our help, please let us know.
