Wow!

On Saturday I went in the car with momma.  We always go on Saturday’s for a long walk.  She is doing a cancer walk thing….humans are funny that way…and she says she is in training and I am her training buddy.  We have fun walking. Some days it's just us.  Some days we have friends.  Some days we are serious walkers and some days I get to lift a leg a lot!

Where did I bury that bone, again?  Hmmmmmmmm…..

Oh sorry, I got distracted.  I was sure I had buried a bone in here somewhere…. I’ll check later.

So, we were off for a drive to meet momma’s friends.  First Lisa and Martini…..What kinda name is Martini for a dog….more like a cat name if you ask me!  That was what I was thinking.  Sorry, ‘tini, I didn’t know you then.  It started to rain a bit but momma said we would still go and maybe it would be ok….tee hee hee….

It didn’t.  We got to Lisa’s and I got to stretch my legs and went to explore the new neighbourhood.  It was ok.  Then I say Martini.  She is cute…..a bit too old for me, but very cute.  She looks a bit like a mop but momma says she is a Shih Tzu somekinda dog.  She was a bit high strung and was eating my treats in my car!  The nerve, I tell you!
Momma split us up in the car – I didn’t care.  I was cool.  I had a nap.

When I woke up, the sky was dark and I coulda told momma what was about to happen.  Us dogs know, you see.  I looked at ‘tini and she knew too, but momma and Lisa they didn’t get it.  They kept thinking that we were gonna go to the off leash area for a quick run before coffee…..I don’t think so!  No way! Not this dog.

The sky was black like my coat and the air was the weird kind.  Then it happened….that weird kaboom!  And then the little stones fell from the sky.  Thunk! Thunk! Thunkity thunk thunk thunk!  They kept coming and coming!  It was so scary.  I was strong though.  I’m tough.  I made myself tremble a bit so that ‘tini didn’t feel silly.

Then the rain came.  So much rain.  All I kept thinking was we are gonna get wet!  I don’t like to get rained on.  I also don’t like it when my paws get all cold and wet.  I have boots, but I only wear them in winter... I wished I had a pair now, but maybe I needed those tall, tall boots like the humans wear….hmmmmm… gonna have to talk to my doggie friends about this…. If not my boots, my raincoat sure woulda come in handy!

Luckily, as quickly as it started, it stopped.  We all went to the coffee shop.  The lady there was nice.  She let ‘tini and I in to sit with momma, Lisa and Jenn.  We were dry and safe and the ice stones, rain and thunder could not get us.

What an adventure….and that was only the start of it for me and ‘tini that day……

Woof…Off to find that bone,
